On April 18, Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera spent part of his time in the Lehigh Valley visiting Building 21 Allentown High School. Secretary Rivera enjoyed time meeting with students, faculty, administrators, and Board Members at the end of the school day. In interviews with local media, he stated how impressed he was with Building 21 Allentown and everyone he met at the school. Secretary Rivera is a proponent of project-based learning which is the basis of the Building 21 concept.
Secretary Rivera was in the Lehigh Valley to speak at the Liberty Bell Shrine Museum in honor of the District’s 150th Anniversary. At the event, he spoke about the importance of providing equity in education and discusses changes that are happening in the state’s education system.
